Nav, where would you go if you had nowhere to sleep?

Can you help vulnerable older people find a safe home?
I will help!

Dear Nav,

My colleague, Laura, recently wrote to you about an older woman named Carol* and the story behind her smile.

Carol lost her home last year after the unexpected death of her beloved husband. On her own, she could no longer afford to pay off the mortgage.

Nav, tonight more than 6,000 women aged over 55 will also face homelessness.1

Help older people find a safe home

When my team first met Carol, she had been living alone in a small room above a local pub for months. Carol was eligible for public housing and was desperately waiting for a permanent home – but she didn't think it would take this long.

"No one knew I was homeless. I always thought this would be
temporary but it's starting to feel like forever." - Carol.

Did you know that on average, it can take anywhere between one to five years to secure public housing in Australia?2

Many women like Carol are thrown into uncertainty after an unexpected event later in life. With little to no superannuation to rely on, a sudden health crisis or death of a love one can push them to the brink of homelessness.
These women urgently need your help, Nav.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, we were able to step in and offer Carol the support network she needed most. Sadly, there are many more older women in need of support.

As we approach winter, my frontline staff are concerned about these older women. Without safe and stable accommodation, their mental, physical and emotional health are at stake.

Your gift today means my team can support even more people like Carol who are homeless this winter. You help provide:

Your generosity serves as a reminder to older women like Carol that they are not alone this winter. Thank you for your support.

P.S. Your gift makes a life-changing impact. If you've already donated, thank you so much. If you can, please donate again today to help me support more vulnerable people like Carol this winter.
